PRACTICE FEES

Here at Health Matters Medical Centre, all GP consultations are Bulk-Billed for patients with a valid Medicare card.

 

Visitors from other countries that are not eligible for Medicare must pay for all healthcare costs. Payment is required at the time of consultation. You are responsible for claiming any reimbursements directly from your 3rd-party provider.

Please note: This applies to GP consults only — other services and procedures will attract a gap fee.

Fees apply for the following services:

  • Excisions

  • Biopsies

  • Iron Infusions

  • Insertions and removals of contraceptive devices

  • Dressings 

  • Completion of forms/medicals

  • Non-funded Vaccinations

Making Payments

  • Patients are required to pay in full on the day of the consultation and can be made by cash, EFTPOS or Credit Card (excluding Diners and AMEX cards). Our TYRO Eftpos system allows patients to receive Medicare rebates back into their account instantaneously when they pay in full with their debit card (Savings or Cheque account). Alternatively patients can supply Medicare with their bank details (registered through MyGov) and Medicare will deposit the rebate into their elected bank account within 24 hours.​​

Cancellation Policy

  • A fee of $30 may apply for patients who do not attend their appointments or cancel with less than 1 hours notice.

Appointments

Walk-ins

Health Matters Medical Centre operates on an appointment basis and walk-ins are not accepted.

​​

If you need more time with your GP, please arrange an extended consultation when booking your appointment. Please advise reception staff if you have more than one issue to discuss so the appropriate consultation time can be booked.

​

​Telehealth

If you are a regular patient, Telehealth services may be available. Telehealth services are at the discretion of your GP. Please contact the practice for more information.

 

Waiting Times

At times you may experience a waiting period due to GPs tending to urgent or complex medical issues. We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

 

After Hours

After Hours Healthcare is provided by National Home Doctor Service  on 13 74 25.

 

Home Visits

We currently do not offer home visits to patients unless advised by your regular GP.

Translator Services

For patients with language difficulties a telephone translator service can be arranged through TIS National Services on 131 450. For patients with hearing difficulties an Auslan interpretor can be arranged on 1300 287 526. Please advise the receptionist if you think this might be needed.
