IRON INFUSIONS
Our GP's are able to perform intravenous iron infusions where necessary. A consult should be booked with your regular GP to discuss your symptoms, along with arranging the appropriate tests to check your current iron levels. If suitable, your doctor can prescribe the iron for you and you can be booked in for the procedure.

This is a procedure that involves placing a needle into a vein in the back of the hand through which a drip is inserted to infuse iron. It is booked as an extended appointment (1hr-1.5hrs) with your regular GP and a practice nurse. The practice nurse will observe you for the duration of your appointment. IMMUNISATIONS
We recommend keeping up to date with your Immunisations to ensure the Health and Safety of yourself and others. To view The National Immunisation Program Click Here.

Routine childhood immunisations are provided for all children in Australia, free of charge, as long as they are on a Medicare Card or are eligible for one.
This helps to protect them from the most serious childhood infections, some of which may threaten their lives.
Some children may need extra vaccines. Speak to your GP about your child’s specific needs.

Travelling overseas leaves the risk of exposure to dangerous and unknown infections.
Consulting with your GP for travel advice and vaccinations is important to keep you healthy while travelling.
You should schedule a consultation at least 6-8 weeks before travel to allow for proper time management with vaccination courses.
CHRONIC DISEASE MANAGEMENT
Here at HMMC, we are committed to assisting with the management of chronic conditions including but not limited to: Diabetes, COPD, Arthritis, Osteoporosis and Heart Disease.

We may recommend the utilisation of a GP Management Plan (GPMP), where the guidance to manage these conditions is individually tailored to your specific health issues.
An appointment is booked for up to one hour with one of our experienced Nurses who will discuss your chronic illness and develop a care plan that will assist you to reach your desired health goals. This can include referrals to allied health professionals such as Physiotherapists, Podiatrists, Dietitians, Diabetes Educators, and Psychologists.

Through the care plan, you are eligible to receive 5 Medicare subsidised visits to the allied health professionals best suited to your care needs.
SENIOR HEALTH ASSESSMENTS
We are pleased to offer our patients aged over 75 years the opportunity to have an annual health assessment. The health assessment is an opportunity for your doctor to assess your health status and perform a thorough health assessment on your physical, psychological and social health.
HEALTH ASSESSMENTS
The Australian Federal Government supports general practice to offer a health assessment for people aged between 45 -49 years of age, who may already have one or more known risk factors to developing a chronic health condition in the future e.g. diabetes or heart disease.
ANTENATAL CARE
Pregnancy can be an exciting but overwhelming time, and at Health Matters Medical Centre we know that health and well-being support is vital during your pregnancy.

Antenatal appointments allow your GP and midwife to help ensure that you and your baby are healthy throughout your pregnancy.
Even if your pregnancy is going well, it is essential to attend these appointments to help identify and prevent or reduce any potential health risks.

We also offer Shared Care Obstetrics services. Shared Care is when your prenatal care is split between your GP and your birthing hospital. This means you are able to see a GP you’re comfortable with, throughout your pregnancy, who can help you make good choices about your care, as well as become familiar with the hospital where you will be having your baby.

If you’re pregnant, please talk to us about your prenatal care and shared care option.
