DR. MAYA DE SILVA

 

Dr Maya De Silva joined the Health Matters Medical Centre team in 2013. She has extensive experience in Women's Health and has been involved in General Practice for over 25 years. She graduated with MBBS in 1992, from the University of Colombo.

Since then she has done further training in family medicine, antenatal care, and skin cancer screening. She is a fellow of the RACGP, and has been involved in supervision and training of General Practitioners in SA.

Dr De Silva is also an accredited Antenatal Share Care provider in SA.

Areas of Interest: ● Mirena insertion ● Chronic Disease Management ● Children and Adolescent Health ● Women’s Health ● Skin cancer checks ● Minor surgery

DR. SHAMIN WALGAMPOLA MBBS, FRACGP, DFM

 

Dr Walgampola enjoys all facets of general practice with special interests in women’s health, Geriatric health and Diabetes. She has completed Medicine in University of Colombo, Sri Lanka and post graduate studies in Family medicine in Post graduate institute, Colombo, Sri Lanka. She has been working as a General Practitioner for 18 years, and started practicing in Adelaide in 2013.

Dr Walgampola completed FRACGP in 2016. She has been accredited for Obstetric shared care, and is also competent in Mirena insertion and removal, Implanon insertion and removal. She is competent to perform minor surgical procedures.

Dr Walgampola is fluent in Sinhalese and Tamil languages.

DR. HIMANSHU BHARDWAJ

 

Dr Bhardwaj is a RACGP Fellow with many years of experience in general practice. Dr Bhardwaj graduated his degree in New Delhi, India in 1996 and worked as a GP for many years before moving to Australia in 2012.

He has interests in all aspects of general practice including family medicine, men and women’s health, childhood and adolescent medicine and chronic disease.

 

His areas of interest:

  • Family medicine

  • Women and Children’s health

  • Adolescent health

  • Chronic disease management

DR. INGE WAKEFIELD

 

Dr Inge Wakefield graduated with a MBBS in 2000 from the University of Adelaide. She did her intern training at Lyell McEwin hospital and has worked in the rural centres of Minlaton and Kadina.

She completed her GP training in 2004 and has been a fellow of the RACGP since 2005. She has been part of the Health Matters Medical Centre team since 2009.

Dr Inge Wakefield has a special interest in obstetrics has an Advanced Diploma of Obstetrics completed in 2005. She also has done further training in Mental Health.

Special areas of interest include: ● Women’s health ● Pregnancy management and Antenatal shared care ● Family planning and contraception ● Preventive health ● Mental health

She enjoys a good book, travelling, swimming, reading, and walking her beloved dogs.

DR. PRASANTHA WALGAMPOLA

Dr Prasantha Walgampola obtained his Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 1995 and has been practicing as a full-time General Practitioner for over two decades in both Australia and overseas. He brings extensive clinical experience and a high level of expertise in managing a wide range of medical and surgical conditions.

He was awarded the Australian Medical Council (AMC) Certificate in 2017 and became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2018. In addition, Dr Walgampola has completed postgraduate qualifications in Skin Cancer surgery and Management.

Dr Walgampola is highly regarded for his advanced procedural skills, with particular expertise in:

  • Skin checks / cancer screening and comprehensive skin cancer management, including skin lesion excisions ,biopsies , skin grafts, and flap repairs

  • Minor surgical procedures, including skin lump removals and ingrown toenail treatment

  • Iron infusions

  • Implanon ( Contraceptive bar )  insertion and removal (fully accredited)

Dr Walgampola also has a strong clinical interest in:

  • Chronic Disease Management such as Diabetes , asthma ,hypertension ,  COPD, Obesity, cardiovascular, endocrine disorders and  musculoskeletal disorders 

  • Adult Mental Health Care

  • treating Indigenous, refugee and immigrant populations.

He is committed to providing patient-centred, high-quality healthcare and is known for his thorough, compassionate, and professional approach to patient care.

DR. PATRICK CONNOLLY

 

Patrick completed his medical degree at the University of New South Wales, Sydney. This included rural clinical years at Albury Wodonga and Coffs Harbour, and electives at SA hospitals RAH, QEH, and LMH. He did his internship and residency at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. Following this he undertook a few years physician training in the northern Adelaide hospital network, before entering the GP training program.

Patrick's interests include general medicine and chronic disease management.

DR. SATINEE CHUCHERD​​ MBBS, FRACGP

Dr Satinee graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine from the University of New England and the University of Newcastle, NSW 2015. She completed her internship and resident years in the Wollongong and Shoalhaven health district, where she gained extensive experience in Emergency Medicine.

Dr Satinee has worked as a GP in rural communities, including Moonta and Wallaroo, for five years. During this time, she developed a strong interest in skin cancer medicine.
Her special interests include skin cancer and dermatology, chronic disease management, and palliative care.

Additional qualifications: Emergency Medicine Certificate (ACEM), Certificate of Dermoscopy (SCCA), Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine (SCCA)

Outside of work, Dr Satinee enjoys photography, especially capturing Australian wildlife. If you know any good wildlife photography spots, please let her know!
